Ugh ... given how terrible the last movie was, I don't think there's anything that can make things better for The Terminator movie. Unless James Cameron returned to direct. Which he won't. He's too busy with those silly Avatar movies.

I was told by a previous partner/gf that I would 'always' be the least important person in her life (right off the bat). She was the best gf I had in my life and we stayed together for around 3 years, until she left me when I got sick with a tumour and 'felt' that my lack of libido was about me not finding her attractive anymore, and not because I was sick. Best relationship. Best breakup. Maybe because she was so honest, upfront and 'adult' about everything. She didn't leave me confused, guessing and utterly broken unlike every gf before and after.

USA has butchered the English language, forcing the rest of the world to choose between Eng or USA/Eng, then there are the state by state colloquial terminologies. Your arrogance and ignorance of the subject you are commenting on is astounding. I generally enjoy watching the reactions to our Aussie sport, comedy and lifestyle, but your focus on grammar because you didn't understand the content is pure bigotry in my opinion. You also failed to note there was no insults or put downs of anybody or group outside of his personal experience. A pity more can't be funny without it being at the expense of others. Sorry, won't be liking, subscribing or returning. Wish you well.

Sam Kinison was gifted with very flexible voice that featured a very high falsetto. That plus years being fundamentalist preacher gave him the ability to do all that. What made all of Sam Kinison happen you wonder? Failure did. But since preceding didn't offer the rewards, he was looking for he decided to try comedy. He was built for the 1980's.

Thank you for a thoughtful review and I am glad you enjoyed the movie. I see really contradictory reviews: some people absolutely didn't get it, others, on the contrary, did. I know I will enjoy it once I get into the theatre. I absolutely love the cast and I am a fan of character driven dramas. I don't care much about action or plot-driven movies, I am more onto atmosphere, vibe and beautiful cinematography when you just feel and rid between the lines.

I also wasn't super interested in seeing this movie, but ended up seeing it because it was the Regal Mystery Monday Movie. I had a similar reaction to yours, for a similar reason. My two uncles have passed away, but one of them, Phil, was a biker in the 60s and 70s. Uncle Phil would be gone for weeks at a time, because he and his buddies would decide to take a road trip to another county ( my family is from CA), or another state. By the late 70s, he didnt have a bike anymore and was finding more "normal" jobs to work, and he had even become a community activist. One of his acheivements was starting a job training center for young people in our city. In 1984, one of the guys who knew Phil from his biker days, and who was jealous of Phil's good nature and popularity, shot Phil , taking his life instantly. My grandparents held Phil's wake at their home right after the burial, and our city's mayor, city council, some of the police, and others came to pay their respects. So, in a way, by the end of "The Bikeriders", it felt like I was experiencing Phil's life played out on screen.

What made this movie worked the most for me is knowing the real story and I have seen the book in the past and when they showed Norman reedus I was like hey he is the real guy attached to easy rider immediately I was like yes and what makes the movie as a whole work is they did it where storylines and characters would get dropped and you pick them up later and like how they showed the person attached to the ending through out the movie I don’t want to spoil anything for people that don’t know the real story

I liked it, but not as much as you. I'd seen it trailered a lot, but was a bit meh about it. Shades of Goodfellas for me, esp with the narration. Austin Butler, wow, so charismatic! Tom Hardy, for me, appears to be playing a caricature of Tom Hardy these days, he shuffles around, unconvincing accent for me as well. Jodie Comer's accent seemed a bit OTT to me as well, but you may be better placed to know how 'real' the accents may sound. *Thanks for sharing your uncle's story* It's definitely a book I'd like to read though.

I didn't find the "walking in the woods" scenes as arduous and protracted as people say. But I found the dialogue to be worse than people are giving it credit for. I have no nostalgia for slasher films to find bad dialogue in those contexts endearing. If you can make it better, then why not?

  • @nickpellatt

Watching on catch-up, I've been to Kabuki theatre in Tokyo, very weird, very typically Japanese, and the audience interacts with the performers shouting out their names. They do hold poses to the audience in a very exaggerated and over-long way. Maybe that's a performance style they extend to movies? That TurboMan is v.cool.

I think it is hard for non-australians to understand some of our words and/or humour. Carl can talk as 'posh' as anyone else; but its easier & quicker for us all to just say 'ewes'. When he was talking about going to a dinner party he said he was used to 'smoko on two bricks'. It is understandable that you may not find that funny - but 'smoko' is a nickname for 'morning tea;' and because he worked as a roof tiler, an outside job, when it was time for 'smoko' they just sat on whatever they could find - in this case, on a construction site; he just put two bricks together and used them for a seat [aussie masonry bricks are much bigger than normal bricks] When he says he was 'pissed' that has two meanings here - either drunk or angry. You can work out which is which by the context of the words it is used with. Really, he just makes fun of things people in general do all the time [over here in Australia] and we love it. We don't mind being made fun of by an other aussie, and words like '*uck knuckle' can also be used when you are talking to your friends eg: a friend tells you she broke up with her boyfriend the night before, and you say to her "What the *uck did you do that for, you *ucknuckle? He was really nice and good looking. You're a *ickhead!!" That would be a friendly conversation between two close friends, no insult intended and none taken. We love to laugh at ourselves.
